Dane Adams

Learning Experience Designer

With eleven years of classroom experience, I bring a practical understanding of how people learn. I now design learning for corporate L&D and EdTech, and build the tools that support it using AI enhanced development.

Learning Experience DesignerInstructional DesignerLearning Technologist

Learning Experience Designer and Learning Technologist with eleven years designing, building and deploying technology-enhanced learning at scale. Deep instructional design experience paired with an AI-first approach to content creation, development and workflow design, including shipping working web applications built with AI coding assistants. Proficient in Articulate Storyline, Rise 360 and H5P, with hands-on SCORM authoring and multi-platform LMS administration. Designed and delivered programmes achieving 100% pass rates against lower national benchmarks, with learning outcomes directly evidenced through data. Actively transitioning into corporate L&D and EdTech.

Professional Narrative

Grounded in education, increasingly fluent in product

I've spent my career making learning that has to work the first time. Real cohorts, real deadlines, mixed prior knowledge, and often a significant number of learners with ADHD, autism, or other additional needs. Designing inclusively wasn't a box to tick - it was the only way the class functioned.

The clearest evidence I have that the approach works is the T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development. I designed and launched it from scratch, and it has achieved 100% student achievement in each of its first two years. All the assessment is externally set and marked, so the figure isn't something I've flattered into existence - it's what came back from Pearson.

What's shifted recently is speed. AI tools let me move from concept to working artefact in days rather than weeks - a prototype, an internal tool, a full analytics dashboard. That's changed what one person can credibly own end-to-end, and it's the part of the role I find most exciting.

The thread through everything here is the same: clear thinking, sound pedagogy, accessible delivery, and AI used as proper leverage rather than decoration.

Next.jsReactTailwindSupabase/PostgreSQLVercel

Built because a 40-sheet Excel workbook had become the thing nobody wanted to open. It is now the primary performance reporting interface for institutional leadership, with weekly data capture feeding historical trend views across department, course, and student level. Built solo, using Claude Code - the kind of lean, AI-augmented delivery that is becoming table stakes for L&D people who want to own the tooling as well as the learning design.

Experience

Professional experience

Senior Lecturer & Programme Leader, Digital Technologies

Hertford Regional College

Hybrid instructional designer, learning technologist and programme lead designing digital learning, administering multiple LMS platforms, and producing eLearning content across T Level, BTEC and HND Digital programmes.

2018-Present

  • Designed and launched the T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development from inception, personally creating hundreds of interactive digital learning resources, achieving 100% student achievement in each of the first two years of delivery against a significantly lower national average.
  • Facilitated live Agile/SCRUM sprint cycles across T Level and games development cohorts, acting as Scrum Master for 20-week project delivery cycles producing industry-standard outputs.
  • Embedded AI tooling across daily authoring, storyboarding, code generation, and accessibility review - not as an experiment, as the default workflow.
  • Authored a full library of interactive HTML-based eLearning modules using AI-accelerated HTML, CSS and JavaScript development, alongside resources built in Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, H5P, and Adobe Captivate.
  • Administered Moodle, Canvas, Cisco Networking Academy and AWS Academy concurrently, including course builds, rollover, assessment setup, and QA.
  • Built and deployed a full-stack KPI analytics dashboard adopted by institutional leadership as the primary performance reporting interface.
  • Applied ADDIE, backward design, Bloom's and UDL throughout curriculum development, including differentiated content for learners with additional needs including ADHD and autism.
  • Delivered formal staff CPD sessions on AI-enabled content creation, learning technologies and accessibility, alongside one-to-one support and written how-to guides for colleagues with varying levels of digital literacy.
  • Acted as Personal Tutor - pastoral support, one-to-ones, SMART target setting, and safeguarding - for a cohort that often needed that before any of the digital content could land.
